Nice that you’re trying these test scenarios and posting the demos!

One thing I noticed a while ago (and reported) was that if you set up a “simple” pendulum - i.e. small body with a world constraint position relatively far from its CoM - then angular damping on that joint doesn’t really work - it’s always far too weak. Fancy checking that one?!

    Hi Danny,

I cannot reproduce this. Angular damping seems to work just fine, although it’s hard to say what “too weak” means in this context - angular damping is a value defined by users, as you probably know. Also I’m not sure how you setup your pendulum - what kind of joint, etc? I don’t see an issue in my simple tests but I can have another look if you give me more details :)

Just emailed you with details. Checking again - the problem was with a pendulum where the ratio of the blob size to the pendulum length is small (anything below 1 really, and 1:10 results in practically no damping at all). Created using a 6DOF joint, spring = 0.

We saw this a long time ago (2013!) so perhaps it has been fixed already - not really set up to test it just at the moment…
